IEP

IEP (Individualized Education Plan)

An IEP (Individualized Education Plan) allows the opportunity for those such as educators, parents, and students, to work together to provide educational support and improve a student’s educational results in school for children with disabilities. This allows for quality education to be placed and individualized for each student in order to help them be successful. These plans can be critical towards a child’s education and are placed to help meet the individualized needs of each child. Occasionally, there will be common terms utilized during IEP services and meetings that may sound unfamiliar or new. Although not all of these terms apply to each student, they are helpful to know and be able to recognize when necessary. Some common terms that are often utilized are:

We understand that initiating services and receiving the appropriate care for your child can be challenging. Resources such as advocates like
The Arc Of Philadelphia (https://arcphiladelphia.org/arc_philadelphia/home.html) can be helpful to ensure your child is able to maximize the learning opportunities during school age years and beyond.

Although we cannot provide IEP services, outpatient services are able to complement state services; as families can qualify for state services at school as well as outpatient services at sites like My Child’s Therapy at the same time. If you feel your child is not making the progress you would like, please schedule an evaluation or reach out at 215.244.2044 or through our website https://www.mychildstherapy.com/contact-us!

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
